Panhellenic Road Championship for Masters Men and Women 2024 in Rethymno (Amari)
One of the most popular cycling events will be held on June 15th & 16th in our villages. Professional cyclists will compete, cycling through the picturesque villages of our Municipality and the Municipality of Rethymno.
The importance of choosing Amari
The choice of Rethymno, and especially Amari, for the organization of the 2024 Panhellenic Road Cycling Championship highlights our place as a certified cycling destination (technically, geographically, and competitively) and we will be happy to welcome cyclists and visitors.

In fact, after the individual time trial on Saturday, June 15, a dinner will follow from the Vistagi Cultural Association, while the next day the Apostolon Cultural Association will host a dinner, where everyone will also enjoy traditional dances from the AKRITES Traditional Association of Pavlos Polioudakis, while the music will be provided by Black Jockey. “ 1
In their announcement, the organizers state that the roads between the villages will be closed (obviously to cars) from 08:30 to 14:00 on Sunday 16/6/24 and invite residents to attend and support the athletes and their efforts.
The program concerning Amari
The Endurance Race will be held on Sunday, June 16th.
At 09:30 from the Agricultural School of Asomaton, in the Men’s Masters category (30-39, 40-49, 50-59), with the route Agricultural School of Asomaton to Amari – Opsigia – Monastiraki – Lampiotes – Petrochori – Vyzari – Agricultural School. (5 laps)
At 12:30 in the Endurance Masters Men 60+ and Masters Women (all age groups), the route Agricultural School of Asomaton to Amari – Opsigias – Monastiraki – Lampiotes – Petrochori – Vyzari. (3 turns).
Endurance Awards Ceremony for the Apostles of Amari, Rethymno
On the first day (Saturday, June 15), the individual time trial will take place (Viran Episkopi – Arkadi Monastery).
